. Intellectual property (IP) management at enterprises of the rocket and space industry (RKO) represents a unique challenge due to its strategic importance and technological complexity. The need to build an intellectual property management system often arises in enterprises of the rocket and space industry, which own exclusive rights to many objects. Such enterprises, as a rule, simultaneously implement various kinds of projects and business processes directly related to the main activities of companies. The intellectual property management system consists of various elements. At the same time, one of the key components is the appropriate management strategy of the organization. The key functions of intellectual property in the innovative economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan are considered. The dynamics of filing applications for a patent for an invention is analyzed. The article considers the relationship between the goals of patent research and the life cycle of a high-tech product in its stages from idea generation to maturity and slowing growth.
