The article deals with the evolution of information security (IS) projects in the energy industry, which is critical for the national economy and security. Based on the analysis of modern business cases and examples from the practice of leading energy companies, the key stages of IS projects development, their economic efficiency and impact on the sustainability of energy systems are identified. Special attention is paid to the integration of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, as well as economic aspects of investing in IS.
