The article examines the transformation of the modern international financial system in the context of growing geopolitical tensions, sanctions pressure and crisis of global institutions. Particular attention is paid to the role of Russia as one of the active participants in the formation of a multipolar financial architecture. The key areas of Russia's participation in this process are analyzed: the transition to settlements in national currencies, the development of an alternative payment infrastructure (APSI), the introduction of a digital currency of the central bank (digital ruble), as well as strengthening regional financial leadership within the EAEU and BRICS. Over the analyzed period, there has been a steady trend of growth in settlements in the ruble and friendly currencies: in exports - from 42% to 82%, in imports - from 48% to 79%. The number of participants in the system (including foreign organizations) has steadily grown from 412 to 584, which reflects the growing trust and interest in the national alternative to SWIFT. A conclusion is made about Russia's proactive strategy aimed at strengthening economic sovereignty and diversifying foreign economic relations.
