The article attempts to identify trends and determine the future prospects for the development of the information and communication technology (ICT) industry. It highlights the importance of this industry for improving the efficiency of the country's economy and for the overall development of society, ensuring its compliance with the demands of modern life. The article examines the forecasts, assessments, and potential scenarios for the industry's development provided by various institutions and researchers, and compares their findings with published statistical data. At the same time, the main indicators characterizing the state of the industry's economy include: "Volume of sales of own goods, works, and services", "Investments in fixed assets", "Average number of employees", and "Share of the added value of the Russian ICT sector in GDP". Based on the published statistical values of these indicators, conclusions are drawn about the current scenario of the industry's economic development, as well as about the possible prospects for further development of the ICT industry.
