Abstract (English):
In today's world, digitalization is becoming a fundamental factor in the transformation of all spheres of economic, social, and technological life. One of the key concepts underlying the new model of interaction among digital economy actors is digital innovation ecosystems—complex, multi-level, and self-organizing systems that integrate diverse participants (government institutions, private companies, research organizations, IT structures, and consumers) into a unified digital space. These ecosystems create unique conditions for the accelerated adoption and scaling of innovations, foster the development of sustainable business models, a flexible digital infrastructure, coordination of resources and knowledge, and enable a shift from linear models of interaction to network-based and platform-oriented forms of cooperation. The purpose of this article is to provide a theoretical, methodological, and practical justification of the digital innovation ecosystem phenomenon, to analyze their structure, functions, and operational principles, and to determine their role in the process of digital transformation of the economy and society. The paper systematizes academic approaches to defining ecosystems and highlights their key components: digital platforms, data distribution mechanisms, interaction algorithms between participants, legal and technological frameworks. The role of digital ecosystems in enhancing innovation potential, creating new markets, and transforming existing industries is substantiated. Special attention is given to the technological foundation of digital ecosystems: the role of artificial intelligence, Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), distributed ledgers (blockchain), cloud computing, and integration platforms enabling system-wide connectivity is explored. The article reviews successful examples of digital ecosystems operating at both global and national levels — from Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud to Russian initiatives such as “GosTech,” the “My Business” platform, and Sberbank's ecosystem. The key challenges impeding the development of digital innovation ecosystems are identified and analyzed: technological fragmentation, lack of system interoperability, shortage of digital competencies, risks of monopolization, legal uncertainties, and cybersecurity threats. Furthermore, the article outlines institutional gaps in the regulatory framework and the lack of tools for interagency coordination. The author concludes that a holistic ecosystem mindset is needed in shaping state digital policies and corporate strategies. A comprehensive approach to ecosystem development is proposed, involving a combination of technological, institutional, educational, infrastructural, and financial measures. The importance of international cooperation, cross-border integration of digital solutions, and the creation of a trust-based environment among all stakeholders is also emphasized. Thus, digital innovation ecosystems represent not only a technological but also a social construct, capable of ensuring sustainable development in the digital era and serving as a catalyst for the transition to an intelligent, human-centered, and environmentally balanced future economy.
