Digital innovations and the evolution of business models: challenges and opportunities in the context of global economic transformation

Abstract:
In the context of the rapid development of the digital economy, innovative technologies continue to radically transform the structure and logic of business models. Over the past three years (2022-2025), there has been an acceleration of digitalization processes, the expansion of the use of artificial intelligence (AI), the development of platform ecosystems and the formation of new approaches to joint value creation. This makes the topic not only scientifically significant, but also practically in demand for entrepreneurs, managers and government regulators. The purpose of the study is to analyze the impact of modern innovative technologies on the formation and transformation of business models in modern conditions, to identify key trends, barriers and strategic imperatives of digital transformation. The study shows that leading companies are increasingly rebuilding their business models around data and AI, adopting flexible, customer-oriented and ecosystem-based approaches. It has been confirmed that successful digital transformation requires not only technological updates, but also changes in management culture, corporate strategy, and customer engagement models. Special attention is paid to the role of open innovation, platform-based business models and cybersecurity as critical factors of sustainability. The integration of innovations into business models has ceased to be optional and has become a prerequisite for competitiveness. An integrated approach to digital transformation, encompassing technologies, processes and human capital, allows not only to adapt to new conditions, but also to form sustainable advantages in the long term.
