Structural transformation of the regional economy in a competitive condition
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The article examines the process of modernization of the regional economic structure as a tool to increase competitiveness. The aim of the study is to increase the competitiveness of the region by using existing and creating new competitive advantages. The research uses methods of statistical and functional analysis, methods of logical and systematic approach to the processes of structural transformation of the region's economy. Special attention is paid to the North Caucasus Federal District, which has significant natural resource potential, but demonstrates low indicators of gross regional product and investment activity. The analysis shows that despite favorable conditions for agriculture, well-developed transport infrastructure and hydropower resources, the region faces problems of low labor productivity, insufficient innovation and weak economic diversification. The paper proposes a model of network socio-economic development, including proactive, predictive and integrated stages. A system of adaptation measures for industrial and non-industrial enterprises has also been developed, aimed at developing digital technologies, human resources and regional infrastructure. The authors emphasize the need to move from tactical support to strategic management of structural transformation, which will ensure sustainable growth and improve the quality of life of the population.
