The article discusses the problem of digitalization of the regional economy and the positive and negative consequences of digital transformation, which are caused both by global trends and specific regional features. The purpose of the article is to identify the main factors that determine the success of digitalization processes in the regional economy. The research methodology is based on scientific methods that are based on the principles of complexity, systemacity, variability, risk management, information security, and information protection. The study identified the main barriers to the development of regional digital ecosystems, including insufficient clarity of strategic priorities, uneven adoption of digital technologies, lack of coordination between information systems, and more. The development of high-speed Internet connection, strengthening the digital transformation of industrial enterprises, and support for small and medium-sized businesses have been identified as key areas for the formation of the region's digital ecosystem. Special attention is being paid to the role of the national project in the digital economy and data economies, as well as the need for periodic updating of regional digital strategies. The article presents the factors that affect the effectiveness of managing the processes of forming a digital ecosystem in the region, such as the interest and active position of the regional authorities, the investment climate, the availability of qualified personnel, information security, and the effectiveness of interdepartmental cooperation, as well as the current state of the region's digital ecosystem, which requires further development. The article's conclusions propose a set of measures for the successful formation and development of the region's digital ecosystem, including reducing administrative barriers, stimulating investment attractiveness, enhancing digital literacy, ensuring a reliable information security system, standardizing digital processes, and creating a unified digital framework. It is emphasized that the digital transformation of the region's economy requires a systematic approach that encompasses not only the implementation of IT technologies but also the establishment of digital offices, an institutional database on the region's economy, and a clear distribution of responsibilities.
