The article provides a comprehensive study of the functioning of the regional labor market using the Kaliningrad Region as an example. Based on the analysis of statistical data for 2019-2024, a positive trend in reducing the unemployment rate from 4.43% to 2.47% was revealed, which indicates an improvement in the labor market situation in the region. The study showed that the decrease in unemployment is due to the development of the region's economy, the creation of new jobs and the effective implementation of employment programs. At the same time, key problems were identified: the shortage of qualified personnel in certain industries and the uneven distribution of jobs across the region. Specific measures have been proposed to improve the vocational education system, develop retraining programs and create jobs in remote municipalities. The results of the study can be used to develop strategies for the development of the regional labor market and improve the employment efficiency of the population. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of applying the findings to further improve the mechanisms for regulating the labor market and ensuring a balance between supply and demand of labor in the region.
