The article analyzes the demographic situation in the Russian Federation as a whole and in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania in particular on the basis of official statistical data of Rosstat, materials of relevant federal and regional departments, as well as regulatory documents as of 2024 and early 2025. The key demographic indicators characterizing the processes of population reproduction are considered, including the dynamics of birth and death rates, changes in the age structure, features of marriage and family behavior and migration processes. The main factors influencing demographic development are identified, including a decrease in the number of women of reproductive age, socio-economic instability and migration outflow of young people. Particular attention is paid to the assessment of the results of the implementation of the national project "Demography" (2019–2024), as well as the analysis of new state priorities in the field of demographic policy within the framework of national projects for 2025–2030.
