The article is devoted to defining the economic efficiency of implementing digital technologies in economic sectors, taking into account their impact on regional labor markets. It is shown that the approaches to assessing the efficiency of digitalization prevailing in academic research are primarily focused on financial and project-based outcomes and do not fully capture the social and labor consequences of digital transformations. Based on an analysis of contemporary theoretical approaches, the study substantiates that the regional labor market constitutes the main space in which the economic efficiency of digital technologies is manifested, since systemic effects of digitalization are reflected through changes in the structure of employment, the content of labor, and the income characteristics of the population. A gap between existing methodologies for assessing digitalization and the objectives of analyzing regional labor markets is identified. The content of the category «economic efficiency of digital technology implementation» is refined and proposed to be interpreted as the ratio of digitalization resources to changes in the labor and income characteristics of the regional population. The obtained conclusions form a theoretical basis for the development of methodologies for assessing the efficiency of digitalization oriented toward the social and labor dimension of regional development.
