The oil and gas sector, which accounts for over 80% of the global energy mix, is adapting to climate change and the demands of national and international institutions by integrating sustainable development principles into its business models. This study analyzes current trends in the oil and gas sector amid the energy transition. It examines key UN Sustainable Development Goals for the oil and gas sector, as well as the industry's current development in international and Russian markets. The study presents data on global investment volumes in various energy sector segments. It also provides an overview of key international projects in the oil and gas sector, implemented by the Russian Federation jointly with friendly countries in the area of sustainable development, and highlights key trends contributing to the achievement of key UN SDGs in the domestic energy sector. It is determined that innovation and partnerships among oil and gas companies are ensuring the decarbonization of the industry and contributing to the UN global goals.
