This article is devoted to the analysis of the achieved results of production and economic activity of organizations in Russia under conditions of growing uncertainty in the economy. The author focuses on the importance of financial indicators, first of all, profit and profitability for assessing business performance and its sustainability. In the current realities, when the existing market mechanisms create significant challenges for commercial enterprises, it is necessary to pay special attention to how to effectively manage financial resources. The author points out that interest in the success of companies is shown by both external (investors, creditors, consumers) and internal (management and employees) counterparties, for whom information about the financial condition and performance plays a critical role in making management decisions.
