Reinsurance is an international business and is influenced by various factors. One of such factors is economic instability in the country. Currently, due to the sanctions pressure, the Russian reinsurance market is facing new risks and threats. In this regard, there is a need to study the problems of its functioning, as well as to identify promising measures to stabilize its successful development in Russia. The article studies the state of the Russian reinsurance market, identifies problems and determines ways of development.
