The study is devoted to trends in bank lending to enterprises in the real sector of the Russian economy in the context of economic instability and sanctions pressure. The analysis showed that the banking system is experiencing a shortage of long-term resources needed to meet the investment needs of the corporate sector. The main volume of loans is aimed at financing current operations, while the role of bank capital in the modernization of production facilities remains insignificant. Structural problems of the resource base of credit institutions and a decrease in the availability of long-term loans have been identified. The author suggests a comprehensive approach, including government involvement and the transformation of banks' credit policies, to stimulate investment lending and maintain economic sustainability.
