The article examines the organizational aspects and types of project financing as an innovative method of implementing investment projects. The models and forms of participation of commercial banks in project financing are considered, including their functions as creditors, organizers, investors and consultants. The article analyzes the evolution of the role of banks in project financing: from passive suppliers of funds to active participants taking investment risks. The models of project financing (parallel and sequential), as well as types of recourse to the borrower are discussed. Attention is paid to key participants in the project financing mechanism, including government agencies, insurance companies, contractors and consultants. The conclusion is made about the advantages of project financing over traditional methods of bank lending due to a clear distribution of risks and obligations between participants.
