In this article, the interregional differentiation of per capita incomes of the population over the past 7 years in constant 2017 prices was analysed as one of the most important aspects of the ever-relevant problem of uneven regional development of the Russian Federation. Despite the measures taken by the government, based on the results of the conducted analysis, it was established that, as of today, a significant gap between the well-being of various segments of the population continues to persist, and the structure of incomes does not exert a significant influence on it due to the fact that it has practically not changed over the studied time period. During the research, several factors determining changes in the examined indicator were also identified, based on which recommendations for improving the existing socio-economic policy were formulated.
