Increased risks of procurement of material and technical resources by pharmaceutical companies, instability and rising costs of logistics have led to tightening of conditions of shipment to the wholesale link, which is forced to insure risks and transfer this to the price of products. The growth of the cost of replenishing the working capital of distributors has also increased the pressure on sales profitability, which has led to a critical decrease in the economic efficiency of wholesale sales of small companies in the market distribution chain. In the article, the author expands the empirical field of analysis of factors and conditions, substantiates the need for diversification of the wholesale business against the background of a decrease in marginality and the resulting increase in the asymmetry of commodity and sales cooperation with the pharmacy link, the loss of market stability of pharmaceutical distributors, the source of which is a change in the terms of contracting with the production link.
