The article discusses the problems associated with the digitalization of economic processes and ecosystems that affect the emergence of new trends in the development of tourism and the tour-ism industry. Modernization of this industry requires an integrated approach and solutions, the development of unified techniques and methods in the organization of state support measures for the industry, investments, in the formation of attractive tourist destinations, children's en-tertainment complexes, museums, exhibitions, attractive places to visit, tourist routes and trips in accordance with the requirements of the time and the demands of society. An important cri-terion for improving the efficiency of this business should be its competitiveness not only in the Russian, but also in the international market, especially with the BRICS countries, through the proposal of various thematic programs and projects jointly with our partners. Tourism should become the basis for a dialogue of cultures between countries, promote the development of tolerance, hospitality, cooperation and mutual understanding.
