The relevance of the article is determined by global trends, such as a decrease in the use of non-renewable energy resources with an increase in electricity consumption and reforms in the energy policy of Kazakhstan. The article is devoted to the analysis of the mining industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan by types of economic activity with a focus on energy resources and their structure in different regions of the country. The article discusses the main trends in the extraction of energy resources, such as coal, oil, gas and uranium, taking into account regional characteristics. An assessment of the role of the mining sector in the country's economy and their role in the economic and energy security of the country is given. The methodological approach includes statistical analysis of data, comparative analysis of the mining industry. Assessment of the structure in the context of regions of Kazakhstan. The conclusions of the article are aimed at optimizing the use of energy resources, considering global trends in the field of energy and recommendations for the energy security of Kazakhstan are proposed.
