This article examines the number of entities, the average number of employees in dynamics, the main instruments of state support for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the Republic of Tatarstan in particular. In addition, the instruments of state support for entities are considered. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the development of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the Republic of Tatarstan. The dynamics of the number of SMEs and the average number of their employees over a certain period are considered, key trends and factors influencing the growth and development of the sector are identified. The main attention is paid to a detailed study of the main instruments of state support implemented in the region to stimulate entrepreneurial activity. An overview and assessment of the effectiveness of various programs and mechanisms aimed at expanding SMEs' access to financial resources, preferential leasing, property support, consulting services, educational programs and other forms of support are presented. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the impact of state support on increasing the competitiveness and innovative activity of SMEs. The article may be of interest to researchers involved in SME development, government officials involved in developing and implementing measures to support entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurs themselves seeking to improve the efficiency of their businesses. The results of the study can be used to improve government policy in SME support and to increase the efficiency of budget funds allocated for the development of entrepreneurship in the region.
