ABSTRACT
The article presents an analysis of sources devoted to the specifics of teaching disciplines in the psychological cycle within non core organizations. It also proposes options for modifying the syllabus of the discipline “Fundamentals of Special Pedagogy and Psychology”, with a focus on studying art therapy approaches. This modification is closely linked to the creative orientation of student training at Dostoevsky Omsk State University (53.03.06 “Musicology and Applied Music Arts”). The proposed changes to the teaching strategy for the aforementioned discipline will serve as a starting point for enhancing students’ motivation to study the discipline in depth and to acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies more effectively when working with people with disabilities. A further research prospect involves a more substantial revision of the syllabus for the discipline “Fundamentals of Special Pedagogy and Psychology” and the introduction of practical training sessions at the Budgetary Educational Institution of the Omsk Region “Center for Therapeutic Pedagogy and Differentiated Learning”.
