The digital transformation of the construction industry has necessitated the training of specialists with competencies in building information modeling. In recent years, educational organizations in the regions have been actively implementing BIM technology training programs in the educational process. However, the development of BIM education is accompanied by a number of problems related to uneven resource provision, a shortage of qualified teachers, insufficient material and technical base, and differences in the level of interaction between educational institutions and employers. The article examines the experience of implementing BIM courses in construction universities and colleges in the regions, analyzes the main socio-economic factors affecting the quality of specialist training, and evaluates the compliance of educational programs with labor market requirements. Special attention is paid to successful employment practices of graduates with BIM competencies. Based on the analysis, the prospects for the development of BIM education in the regions have been identified and areas for improving educational programs have been proposed.
