The article presents the role of the formation of innovative demand in the system of tasks of economic security of the state. The existing approaches to the implementation of the innovation process are analyzed, focusing on the need to move from predominantly supply-oriented models to an integrated approach. It is noted that the state, with powerful instruments of influence, is able to provide bilateral support for innovation, including by generating demand for new goods, works and services in priority areas. The article describes the proposed conceptual model describing the place of innovative demand formation in the structure of economic security priorities. The relevance of the development of this area in modern conditions of technological transformation and foreign economic challenges is also substantiated.
