Legal regulation of digital platforms in the Russian Federation
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
One of the reasons for the rapid development of digital platforms is the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the effectiveness of such a tool within the framework of commercial relations, its development generates violations of data privacy, distribution of destructive content, increase of counterfeits on the market. In order to minimize the risks of violations, it is necessary to have competent legislative regulation, which, in turn, will not slow down the development of commercial relations. The purpose of this article is to analyze the current legislation in the sphere of regulation of online platforms in the Russian Federation. To achieve the goal, the method of system analysis is used, which allows us to consider the specified sphere as a system, the main elements of which are individual regulatory legal acts. Also, with the help of comparative-legal method the differences and similarities of legal regulation of digital platforms in the European Union and the Russian Federation were highlighted. The result shows that the European Union is ahead of the Russian Federation in this issue. The EU is building a comprehensive system of regulation, while the Russian Federation is only forming the legislative framework.
