Object: The purpose of this scientific research is to use the balance sheet as a source of information about the financial condition of an economic entity to diagnose the financial situation of this entity, as well as to assess the existing and identify ways to ensure the long-term liquidity of its balance sheet. Methods: In the course of this scientific research, such methods of financial diagnostics of the current state of an economic entity and modeling the prospects for its further development were used as the method of absolute and relative values; the method of comparison; the method of vertical, horizontal and trend diagnostics; as well as the method of diagnosis using financial coefficients. Findings: Giving priority to such sections of financial diagnostics and modeling of the prospects for the development of an economic entity as the assessment of its assets and liabilities, as well as the assessment of the liquidity of its balance sheet and recommendations for its provision, firstly, the calculation of indicators reflecting the composition, structure and dynamics of assets and liabilities of this entity was carried out, and secondly, the degree of coverage of the obligations of an economic entity, grouped by the degree of urgency of their repayment, by the property of this entity, grouped by the degree of its liquidity, was determined. In the first section, conclusions were presented on the degree to which the balance sheet of the economic entity selected as the object of research corresponded to the characteristic features of an exemplary one, and the changes in monetary terms of its articles were favorable. In the second section, the amounts of the payment surplus or deficit were calculated in the context of each of the groups of indicators of assets and liabilities of the mentioned entity. Conclusions: Based on the results of calculations and conclusions about the degree of liquidity of the balance sheet of the research object, within the framework of modeling the development prospects of this entity, measures are outlined, the implementation of which will ensure that its balance sheet reaches absolute liquidity.
