The Economic Significance of the Met Gala for the Tourism and Creative Industry of New York

Abstract (English):
In this article, the Met Gala is considered as an important factor influencing the development of the creative sector and the economic dynamics of New York. Both direct and indirect results of the event are emphasized.: strengthening the international image of the city as a center of fashion and art, supporting professional communities in the creative field, increasing the tourist flow and attracting new investments. A special emphasis is placed on comparing charitable receipts and media coverage, as well as on assessing the tourist effect of the event. In addition, the contribution of the Met Gala to the formation of the symbolic capital of the city and the development of the cultural brand of New York is considered. The analysis shows that the Met Gala is not only a cultural phenomenon, but also a strategic management tool that promotes the metropolis in a global competitive environment and strengthens its position in the global creative economy.
