Amidst the increasing complexity of foreign economic activity driven by the deterioration of international relations, sanction wars, and the ongoing mitigation of the COVID-19 pandemic consequences, state support for enterprises focused on external market is becoming crucial. In Khabarovsk krai over 90% of exporters are small and medium-sized enterprises (here in after – SME’s), whose share in exports is substantial and reaches 40%. Research into existing regional financial support measures aimed at stimulating the export activities of SME’s gains significant relevance. The authors examine the key indicators of regional state support provided to SME’s exporters by the Ministry of economic development of Khabarovsk krai. It was identified that between 2022 and 2024, there has been a decline in the number of SME’s applying for support measures, coupled with an increase in pre-trial repayments of received subsidies. Based on the analysis, measures to improve financial support mechanisms for SME exporters are proposed, namely – reducing the mandatory requirements regarding experience in export activities and the mandatory volume of increase in export products.
