The article is devoted to the study of the state internal debt as a factor of economic security of the state. The current socio-economic conditions make it necessary for public authorities to use the most optimal tool for managing budget deficits. Currently, the national domestic debt has become such an instrument. The article reveals the nature of public domestic debt as a tool for managing budget deficits, and presents the advantages of domestic debt in comparison with other instruments. The absolute and relative indicators of the national domestic debt are analyzed. The main positive and negative features of the impact of public domestic debt on the economic security of the state are described.
