Digital Transformation of Higher Education: Challenges for Teachers and Students

Abstract (English):
The digital transformation of higher education is radically changing the traditional formats of the educational process, the roles of participants in educational interaction, and the very nature of pedagogical activity. The article examines the key challenges faced by teachers and students in the context of accelerated digitalization: the need to master new technologies, the restructuring of teaching and learning methods, the increase in cognitive and emotional stress, the issues of digital inequality, data protection, and academic integrity. Special attention is given to the imbalance between the technical capabilities and the pedagogical readiness of the participants in the process, as well as the risk of a "technological imperative" — the implementation of tools for the sake of tools themselves. It is emphasized that successful digital transformation is only possible with a humanistic approach, in which technology serves the development of the individual rather than replacing pedagogical interaction.
