This article analyzes the role of small businesses in the service sector as a key factor in increasing the economic efficiency of the Far Eastern Federal District. The article defines the characteristics of small businesses according to Russian legislation and international standards, emphasizing their flexibility, innovation, and contribution to cluster formation. The article examines the geographical and resource advantages of the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as limiting factors such as dependence on budget support, labor shortages, and infrastructure problems. The article analyzes the investment climate, including investment growth, support measures, and small business turnover dynamics. The article highlights the provisions of the National Program until 2035, priorities for technological entrepreneurship, and prospects in tourism, environmental management, and improving the quality of life. The article highlights the main challenges: limited access to financing (high interest rates, low banking penetration), infrastructure deficit (transport, energy, digital networks), and regulatory barriers (bureaucracy, licensing, tax burdens). Recommendations for overcoming these challenges for the sustainable growth of small businesses in the service sector are offered.
