Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
This article examines the potential of popular science tourism in the context of stimulating the technological development of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The authors substantiate the position that this type of tourism serves not only as an educational tool but also as an effective mechanism for staffing high-tech industries, fostering a regional culture of innovation, and increasing the investment attractiveness of regions. Based on an analysis of national trends and empirical data from the Samara Region, the mechanisms by which popular science tours influence the professional self-determination of young people, the popularization of engineering professions, and the development of intersectoral cooperation are identified. Particular attention is paid to the challenges and barriers hindering the development of this type of tourism. The study concludes that popular science tourism needs to be institutionalized in regional socioeconomic development strategies as a factor in ensuring long-term technological sovereignty
