Digital transformation and artificial intelligence: trends, challenges and prospects for development in the Russian economy

Abstract:
The relevance of studying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on the economy is driven by the growing interest in the digital revolution. Understanding effective AI implementation and analyzing its consequences are critical for successful integration into Russia's economic environment. This article aims to comprehensively research the main trends in AI creation and integration within the Russian economy. Objectives included examining AI's theoretical foundations, analyzing its impact on the production environment (including business processes and employment), identifying key implementation factors, and assessing the prospects for realizing its full potential. Comparative and statistical analysis, induction, and deduction were used as primary methods. The study revealed that the full effect of AI cannot be achieved instantaneously; its integration will fundamentally alter company operations at all levels. It is concluded that AI's full potential across the Russian economy may only be realized by 2032. However, AI implementation may face ethical and significant financial barriers, personnel shortages, and the need for infrastructure modernization, which could slow adoption.
