For a startup at the pre-launch stage, a systematic analysis of the competitive environment is a critical step in justifying the business model. According to CBInsights, about 35% of failures are due to a lack of market demand, and 20% are due to losing the competition. This paper presents a methodology for assessing competitive pressure using Porter's five-force model, which has been adapted for the local market of ready-to-eat food delivery in Yakutsk, specifically for the personalized nutrition niche. Each of the five forces has been quantified using a three-point scale. The results showed that substitute products pose the greatest threat (3 points, high level); intra-industry competition and the threat of new entrants are assessed as medium (10 and 12 points); and supplier influence is low (6 points). Five key competitive advantages of the startup were formulated, and a differentiation strategy was justified.
