This article is devoted to topical issues of state property management in the Russian Federation. The study of theoretical aspects made it possible to determine the types of state property such as: natural resources; cultural heritage sites; civil and military enterprises; administrative buildings; communication lines, heat and power transmission; transport infrastructure and facilities and other types of property, in accordance with the legal status of state property, enshrined in the Civil Code of the Russian Federation. And to determine the importance of the role of state property in the economic well-being of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the article touches on aspects of nationalization, the transformation of property from private to public, and on the example of the Perm Krai, an example is given of solving the problem of unidentified property objects that currently do not have a private owner, but the state or municipality cannot simply begin to exploit them for profit or to achieve other goals.
