Over the past few years, the Russian Government has been reviewing the law setting out the rules governing the entry, registration and labor rights of migrants. Proponents of a strict migration policy argue that such rigidity is necessary to ensure security and stability of the situation inside the country. From their point of view, migrants can pose a security threat because they can actively engage in criminal activities or provoke conflicts in society. The establishment of a balance is necessary to protect the interests of people and at the same time to use the labor of migrant workers. It is important to create conditions more favorable for the integration of migrants. Well-organized integration programs can improve the quality of life of migrants and residents of the local community, and reduce crime rates.
