Abstract (English):
The article examines theoretical aspects of sustainable development of regional economic systems at the current stage of economic development. Key factors influencing regional sustainable development are identified and systematized, including economic, natural resource, human, institutional, innovative, social, information and communication, political, environmental, financial, and infrastructural factors. The main groups of indicators for assessing sustainable development are presented, along with examples of indicators within each group. Modern approaches to indicator assessment are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the comprehensive nature of sustainability assessment of regional economic systems.
