The article proposes an approach to the classification of regional economic risks within the concept of sustainable development. At the present stage of its own development, society realizes the importance of a conscious approach to ensuring economic growth, social development and preservation of the ecological sphere. This makes the study of the concept of sustainable development relevant, both at the level of a single country and at the level of a single region. The point of view on the necessity of inclusion of the concept of management sphere in the generally accepted tri-unity is reflected. The importance of taking into account in the concept of risk management process due to the inevitability of the influence of unfavorable events on the functioning of all economic entities at the regional level is substantiated. The author's approach to the classification of regional economic risks is proposed.
