The article is devoted to the analysis of a new Standard for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of mortgage borrowers, effective January 1, 2025. The key changes in mortgage lending aimed at increasing transparency, protecting borrowers' rights and improving credit conditions are being considered. The main focus is on innovations, including limiting the maximum loan amount, down payment requirements and loan terms, as well as measures to minimize risks for borrowers and lenders. The article highlights the importance of informing citizens about the risks associated with mortgage lending, as well as about available government programs, simplifying complaints and providing legal assistance. The new standard focuses on the need to ensure transparency and protect the financial interests of borrowers, which helps to increase confidence in the mortgage lending system and create a stable economic environment.
