In the context of modern challenges to regional development, an important direction for the sustainable functioning of municipalities is to strengthen their economic security. The article considers methods and algorithms for assessing the effectiveness of modifying the local self-government mechanism to strengthen the economic security of the region. The relevance of the work is due to the need to adapt the management strategies of municipalities to new socio-economic conditions, which helps to reduce the vulnerability of the region's economy to internal and external threats. The purpose of the study is to develop a methodological basis for assessing the effectiveness of changes in the local self-government system aimed at ensuring economic security. The study uses methods of comparative and system analysis, economic and mathematical modeling, as well as methods of expert and statistical analysis. The proposed assessment algorithms include the construction of a system of indicators that model the impact of changes in the management system on key parameters of the region's economic security, such as investment attractiveness, employment level, stability of the revenue side of municipal budgets, the effectiveness of municipal management and the sustainability of social infrastructure. The results of the study allow us to identify the most significant indicators of economic security at the level of municipalities, as well as to develop approaches to assessing the effectiveness of changes in their management mechanisms. Based on the data obtained, practical recommendations are formulated to increase the sustainability of local government and reduce risks to the economic stability of the region. The proposed methods and algorithms can serve as a basis for developing an economic security strategy at the regional level and increase the adaptive capabilities of local authorities in a changing economic environment.
