In the context of the main objective of the study, namely improving the state of economic security of the region (ESR), this article examines the main mechanisms and tools for ensuring ESR. The opinions of various authors regarding the use of various tools for ensuring ESR were analyzed. Based on the results of the study, a single comprehensive system was proposed aimed at ensuring and maintaining a sustainable level of ESR. The essence of the system lies in the use of specific tools selected based on the results of the analysis. The analysis is based on monitoring factors that can have a negative impact on the regional economy, followed by the use of a system of regulatory indicators and a comprehensive economic analysis of business activities. The proposed comprehensive system for ensuring ESR allows for ensuring the state of economic security, as well as sustainable development of the region.
