In the context of rapid digital transformation, globalization and the increasing complexity of the external environment, not only the models of organizational behavior, but also the structure of managerial functions are being transformed. The purpose of the article is to systematize the managerial functions of a modern leader, taking into account the evolution of managerial thought and the current challenges of socio-economic development. The paper analyzes classical approaches to management functions (A. Fayol, G. Mintsberg), models of the American school of management, systemic and behavioral approaches, as well as modern concepts, including the PAEI model and Adizes. Special attention is paid to such functions as planning, organization, motivation, control, leadership and innovation, which today acquire new content and interrelationship. It is shown that a successful modern leader must combine strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, flexibility and the ability to generate and implement innovations. A holistic picture of management activities as a multidimensional, dynamically adaptable system requiring the integration of traditional and new competencies is presented.
