The article is devoted to the study of ways to improve the system of state measures aimed at the development of tourism in the Republic of Dagestan. Tourism, as an important sector of the economy, has a significant impact on the socio-economic development of regions, contributing to attracting investment, increasing budget revenues and creating new jobs. The article examines the structure of the tourism system as a set of interdependent elements contributing to the formation of infrastructure and the provision of services. Special attention is paid to the economic impact of tourism, including the growth of the welfare of the host community, improving the quality of life of citizens and the receipt of foreign currency, which is especially important for developing destinations. The paper offers recommendations for optimizing government support measures, taking into account the specifics of the region.
