In the context of contemporary socio-economic development and the transformation of the higher education system, the issue of educating students has become particularly relevant and strategically significant, since the period of study at higher educational institutions is crucial for the formation of key personal, civic, and professional qualities of future specialists. A modern university is viewed not only as a space for transferring knowledge and developing professional competencies, but also as a major social institution that carries out purposeful educational influence on student youth. The intensification of globalization processes, changes in value orientations, the growth of information loads, digitalization of the educational environment, and increasing complexity of social interactions necessitate a reconsideration of traditional approaches to educational work and the search for effective mechanisms for influencing students’ personalities. The article examines effective approaches to educating students in higher educational institutions as an integrated and multi-level system that includes pedagogical, psychological-pedagogical, and socio-cultural components of educational activities. The essence of student education in the context of modern higher education is analyzed, and its role in forming social responsibility, civic awareness, moral values, and the capacity for self-development is revealed. Particular attention is paid to factors affecting the effectiveness of educational work, such as features of the educational environment, the specifics of student age, the level of student involvement in extracurricular activities, and interaction between teachers, administration, and the student community. The paper provides a detailed analysis of the main pedagogical and preventive approaches to student education, forms and methods of their implementation in academic and extracurricular activities, as well as the importance of project-based, volunteer, and socio-cultural activities in the formation of a harmoniously developed personality. The role of teachers and educational institutions in creating an educational and developmental environment that promotes the formation of stable value orientations and positive behavioral models is emphasized. The study concludes that a comprehensive and systemic approach to educating students in higher educational institutions is necessary to improve the effectiveness of the educational process, develop students’ personal potential, and prepare socially responsible and professionally competent graduates
